The CCF Prayer Team offers prayerful support for the
needs of our church community. This support takes the form of prayer,
training and opportunities to participate in praying with others. The
team has been carefully trained to attend to various needs and gifted
to care for them. Our purpose and hope is to create and tend a sacred,
safe and conducive space in which the person with need can meet with
our Lord and receive blessing according to His love, mercy and purpose.
Philosophy of Prayer
Our core values:
1. Care vs Cure -We
ask, agree and advocate on your behalf—God
answers and provides
out of his limitless wisdom and abundance. There is no power apart
from
His.
2. We clearly recognize and treat everyone—including ourselves—as
VIVID:
• Valuable
• Imperfect
• Vulnerable
• Immature
• Dependant
How We Pray:
1. Respectfully: we listen attentively
and agree with your request vs knowing what is best ourselves
2. We practice the Family Blessing by:
•
Meaningful, appropriate and respectful touch (the laying on of hands)
•
Spoken word (of love: identity, value, purpose and hope)
•
Attaching a high value to the one being prayed for (you are God’s
child)
•
Envisioning a special future for the one being prayed for (your prayers
heard and answered)
• Committing to that special
future (you are not alone)
